A comprehensive theoretical (classroom) and practical (wet drill) course required by crew competing in offshore (category 1) races.
Coastal yachting experience recommended. Water confidence is required for wet drill.
Students will receive the Advanced Sea Survival qualification (recognised by Yachting NZ & World Sailing), and NZQA unit standard 12309 is available.

We are based at the historic Clyde Quay Boat Harbour, right next to the Freyberg Pool.

This course has a practical component involving a liferaft in the neighbouring Freyberg Pool. The pool is indoors and heated.
Please bring whatever you would be wearing in adverse conditions at sea, including your wet weather gear, boots and life jacket.
Current financial RPNYC members and their spouses and dependent children are entitled to a 10% discount.
This is a theory/pool based course and is not weather dependent.
