This is an intermediate course for coastal boaties within 24 hours of assistance. It meets requirements for workplace first aid certificate and is valid for 2 years.
The ‘Coastal Medic’ course is held over two days and is equivalent to a Workplace First Aid course, it aims to provide you with the skills to manage trauma for up to 24 hours with little outside assistance. The course is recognised by both Maritime New Zealand and the NZQA unit standards system. The ‘Coastal Medic’ course is also a pre-requisite for the ‘Offshore Medic’ and ‘Ocean Yachtmaster’ qualifications.
This course includes NZQA unit standards 6400, 6401 and 6402.
Average Duration: 16 hours over two days

This is a classroom based theory course, with no dress code requirements.
Current financial RPNYC members and their spouses and dependent children are entitled to a 10% discount.
This is a classroom based activity, and will go ahead regardless of the weather.
